The URNRD's Rock Creek and NCORPE augmentation projects may need to be operated in late 2025 - early 2026 primarily because of dry conditions in parts of the central and eastern half of the Republican Basin. Neither project has had to be used to enhance stream flows since 2017. The Rock Creek and NCORPE augmentation projects are irrigated-funded projects that maintain the State of Nebraska's compliance with the Republican River Compact.
